The 2024 Major League Baseball Draft kicks off on Sunday afternoon while the Padres will be finishing up their series against the Atlanta Braves. San Diego has the 25th pick in the draft, which is ten spots below where they would’ve picked had they not been penalized by going over the luxury tax last year.
The next six picks after 25th are 52, 88, 118, 134, 135 and 151.
A.J. Preller and his team have gone with high schoolers over college players early in their drafts so we’ll see if that will continue come Sunday. Last year Dillon Head was the Friars pick and he’s already been traded so Preller could go get a star.
