Infielders Brett Wallace and Ramiro Pena homered and right-handed starting pitchers Zack Segovia and Daniel McCutchen allowed a one run over a combined nine innings Friday night as Triple-A El Paso (22-19) swept a doubleheader at New Orleans by identical 4-1 scores.
Elsewhere in the Padres' farm system, Hunter Renfroe had a four-hit night for Double-A San Antonio and 18-year-old shortstop Ruddy Giron was 2-for-5 for Class A Fort Wayne as his batting average dipped to .520 in his debut week.
And San Antonio placed right-handed starter Colin Rea on the seven-day, Texas League disabled list with lower back spasms.
