The Nationals officially acquired Trea Turner from the Padres on Sunday, a year and a day after the highly regarded shortstop prospect signed his professional contract with San Diego.
The move completes a Dec. 18 three-team trade in which the Padres, who received Wil Myers and catcher Ryan Hanigan, sent right-hander Joe Ross and a player to be named later to Washington.
