Major League Baseball’s Golden Glove Award winners were announced this evening and the Padres got themselves at least one player who will be earning himself some hardware. Second-year centerfielder Trent Grisham won his first Golden Glove of his young career after helping the Padres to a 37-23 regular season record and their first playoff appearance in over 14 years.
The 5’11, 224-pounder slashed .251/.352/.456 on the year with an OPS of .808 while proving to be one of the more-dynamic and young centerfielders in the game.
Third baseman Manny Machado was one of the three finalist for a Golden Glove Award with the Rockies’ Nolan Arenado and Brian Anderson of the Marlins’.
