Some teams have declared themselves in the trade market, executives say. The San Diego Padres are ready to trade, and so are the Brewers, who moved veteran infielder Aaron Hill to Boston on Thursday, as well as the Phillies. The perception that some teams have is that the Rays and the Angels are prepared to field any idea another team would like to bring to them.
The Yankees are in the same position, as GM Brian Cashman said the other day: If you have a suggestion, give him a call -- and rival officials say the Yankees are taking offers for veterans.
