Rookie shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. missed roughly a month of the season due to a hamstring injury and still leads the Padres with 3.1 Wins Above Replacement (WAR, according to Fangraphs.com). He was not selected to participate in the All-Star Game, but the 20-year-old infielder has far exceeded expectations through the first half of his first season in the majors.
