A daylong event called Talking Baseball will be presented on Saturday, on behalf of the San Diego Chapter of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) and the San Diego Central Library.
The lineup includes former players, writers, performers and artists doing everything from discuss the 1919 Black Sox scandal to sing baseball songs.
Best of all — it's free.
"I wanted something that would be entertaining, where people could come and go and would be free to the general public," said Andy Strasberg, a former Padres executive who organized the event. "The good thing is that if you're downtown and want to sit down some place, we've got a place for you to sit and you can enjoy a variety of baseball presentations.
