PHOENIX -- The Padres travel to Los Angeles following Wednesday's game in Arizona -- but Cory Spangenberg (strained left quad) and Jemile Weeks (strained right hamstring) will not be joining them.
The injured infielders will remain at the team's complex in Peoria, Ariz., where they're continuing their rehabilition. Both could begin an official Minor League rehab stint within the next week.
Spangenberg, the club's Opening Day second baseman, has been out since April 19, when he sustained the injury, while legging out an infield single.
"In Spangenberg's case, that's been a guy that we looked at, based on his rookie year, to really be a catalyst in our offense this year," said Padres manager Andy Green.
