Sod Poodles rolling; Storm stage epic comeback

Double-A Amarillo might win the second half, too.

Home runs from Edward Olivares and A.J. Kennedy in the seventh inning keyed a 4-3 come-from-behind win on Wednesday, the Sod Poodles’ third in a row.

Amarillo (31-21, 65-55) has a five-game lead on Corpus Christi in the second half of the Texas League’s South Division with 18 games left on the schedule.

Olivares’ homer was his 17th of the season and drove in two runs. He has a .830 OPS.

Kennedy (.650 OPS) hit his second homer and doubled in a three-hit game.
