Last night's 8-1 victory over the Diamondbacks was a great little sample of when things for A.J. Preller's 2015 Padres are clicking. Dominate pitching and hot bats; winning ingredients for any baseball team. Today, though, Andrew Cashner and the lineup couldn't find a way to emulate last night's success.
Ca$h took the mound today against Jeremy Hellickson. Cashner's last start saw him giving up 5 earned runs in only 5 innings. Hellickson's mirrored his last start, going 6 innings only giving up 2 earned runs. But today, all Cash's 7 conceded runs (only three earned) came early in a dumpster-fire of a second inning.
