Schimpf's 10th-inning walk-off caps huge night

SAN DIEGO -- Ryan Schimpf capped a brilliant night with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday night, propelling the Padres to a 7-4 victory over the D-backs.

Schimpf, who also tied the game in the eighth with a two-run shot, finished the night with 12 total bases and went 4-for-5.

D-backs starter Zack Greinke was sharp in his bounceback effort from a woeful start in Boston last week. He allowed two runs over seven frames, before he was removed for pinch-hitter Rickie Weeks Jr. in the eighth.
