The San Diego Padres looked like a completely different baseball team this week, a week which featured a five game winning streak including victories over two division front runners and a sweep of the defending World Series champions.
The newfound success is mostly a credit to a revived pitching staff which surrendered a total of fie runs in a three game series against the Chicago Cubs.
Still, naturally due to San Diego’s 23-35 record, their rankings this week still won’t look pretty. Regardless, the club is moving in the right direction, which is all fans can realistically ask for at this point.
