As the San Diego Padres hot stove was ignited well before the end of the 2018 regular season, one prospect has popped up in more and more discussions, third baseman Hudson Potts.
After ripping through the Carolina League with the Lake Elsinore Storm (.281/.350/.498, 17 home runs 35 doubles), the Padres rewarded Potts with a promotion to the AA San Antonio Missions, despite the fact that he was still just 19 years old.
Appearing in 22 games with the Missions, Potts struggled to catch up with Texas League pitching. He hit just .154 with 33 strikeouts in 78 at-bats.
