For the nearly 5,000 fans that attended yesterday’s game at Surprise Stadium, at least the weather was beautiful! The San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals combined for just seven hits as the Padres fell, 4-0.
Chase Headley was the only projected Padres’ starter to be in yesterday’s lineup as Andy Green gave all of the bubble players a chance to separate themselves from the competition.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
Raffy Lopez and Travis Jankowski were the only San Diego hitters to record a hit, both singles. Jankowski was immediately picked off first base while a Matt Szczur GIDP wiped out the single by Lopez.
