The 2016 season, and really the 2015 offseason, is when the San Diego Padres rebuild got kicked into gear and we saw A.J. Preller put together one of the best farm systems in all of baseball.
We thought it a good time and a good exercise to look at the top 10 prospects for the Padres at that time — based on MLB Pipeline’s rankings — and see where they are now.
Before we get into the top 10, I wanted to mention a few that ranked just outside.
