Last year, the San Diego Padres hit 189 home runs, good for eleventh in the National League. Team leaders in jacks were Wil Myers, who hit 30, newcomers Hunter Renfroe (26) and Austin Hedges (18), and the now-departed Yangervis Solarte (18).
With a somewhat new, but mostly matured and more comfortable group of Friars’ hitters looking to send some balls over the walls this season.
So far this spring, this revamped lineup has been on a collective tear. And that’s not to say there are some individuals carrying others because the list of Spring Training offensive leaders on this team looks like an Opening Day player introduction script.
