San Diego Padres: Ross Shines, Offense Wakes Up in Win Over SF

The San Diego Padres didn’t register a hit until the bottom of the fifth inning in last night’s game. Ty Blach was cruising along, 51 pitches heading into the fifth, before the Friars’ offense woke up from their little nap.

Christian Villanueva got the Pads’ first hit of the game in the fifth inning, a slow roller to third that Evan Longoria couldn’t handle.

Austin Hedges followed with an opposite-field base hit to left field, and then Tyson Ross brought home the game’s first run with an RBI single.
