Logan Allen made his MLB debut Tuesday and almost led the San Diego Padres to their second consecutive shutout.
The rookie starter made easy work of the Milwaukee Brewers, pitching seven innings at PETCO Park while holding the visiting team scoreless for a 4-1 victory.
Allen gave up only three hits and two walks, while striking out five.
The only thing stopping San Diego from keeping the Brewers off the board for the second night in a row was reliever Trey Wingenter giving up a run in the eighth inning.
Otherwise, Milwaukee had very little success against Padres pitchers.
