Filling the void left by Dinelson Lamet’s season-ending injury, the San Diego Padres have added LHP Tyler Webb to their 40-man roster. Webb was claimed off waivers after the Milwaukee Brewers designated him for assignment early last week.
It’s a minor transaction that won’t have any major impact, however, Webb’s services may be needed over the next few days. Brad Hand, Kyle McGrath, Robbie Erlin, Buddy Baumann, and Brad Wieck are the only left-handed bullpen options available to Andy Green.
With the recent suspension to Luis Perdomo for last week’s bench-clearing brawl with the Colorado Rockies, Perdomo will miss his next start.
