Jim Duquette had a couple of very interesting tidbits to share about the San Diego Padres yesterday on MLB Network Radio. In speaking with members of the Friars front office, Duquette says the team believes that with the addition of Eric Hosmer and maybe another free-agent, the Padres could contend this season.
In addition to that fairly obvious news (sorry, Jim), Duquette also says that the Padres have been in contact with the Tampa Bay Rays regarding their stud starting pitcher Chris Archer.
Archer, 29, has the pure stuff to be an ace on nearly any team.
