Jayce Tingler started off his Padres managerial tenure on a good note. He led the franchise to their first playoff appearance in 14 years in a shortened 2020 season. However, he wasn’t made for a full 162-game season, as San Diego failed to live up to expectations in Tingler’s first full season at the helm.
2021 ended up being Tingler’s one and only season at the helm, as he has been fired as manager of the San Diego Padres. There was speculation this past weekend that Tingler would be relieved of his duties after the season and it’s finally happening.
