Luis Perdomo has appreciated his time in the majors from the start. Even at Andrew Cashner’s expense, the 23-year-old right-hander has appreciated a starting pitcher’s routine even more.
He’s not alone.
“Being a Rule-5 guy, you want to work with him has much as possible, but when a guy’s in the bullpen it’s very difficult to work with relievers other than mental skills or just watching him play catch,” pitching coach Darren Balsley said. “It’s hard to grab a kid and say let’s go work on this because you never know when he’s going to pitch. Now that he’s in the rotation he’s got a definite routine.
