SAN DIEGO -- The Padres got the bounceback effort they needed from Tyson Ross on Thursday night. Their offense waited too long to offer any support.
Ross carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but the veteran right-hander never had any margin for error against Dodgers righty Ross Stripling. Ross faltered in the seventh, as the Padres dropped the series finale, 3-2, at Petco Park. Wil Myers' late two-run double served as San Diego's only offense.
After an excellent first half, Ross was shaky in his last two starts.
