We learned which Padres were voted into the All-Star Game by the fans this week but today was the day for the rest of the squad (pitchers/reserves) to be announced on ESPN.
Robert Suarez and Jackson Merrill will be going to their first All-Star Game. According to AJ Cassavell, Merrill is the youngest All-Star in Padres history and the first rookie. Suarez has been the ultimate team player out of the bullpen, posting a 1.77 ERA in 35.2 IP (it would be lower had he not struggled on Friday). He has seven appearances of more than three outs.
