A feel-good story could be coming to a ballpark near you this year, as Connor Joe appears to be signing with the San Diego Padres. Details of the contract are unknown at this time.
Joe isn’t going to fill Jurickson Profar’s (or probably even Donovan Solano’s) shoes but this signing doesn’t hurt. If it works out, then it’s a great story and if it doesn’t, well there probably wasn’t much money attached to it anyway.
The USD alum is coming off a two-year stint in Pittsburgh (256 games), posting a slash line of .238/.330/.396 with 20 home runs.
