Ramona Johnston was 39 when she was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease in 1999. For two decades the genetic neurogenerative disease robbed her of basic motor functions, including speech.
Throughout that time, her husband, longtime Chargers PR director Bill Johnston, helped to raise millions of dollars to find a cure.
On Thursday night, Ramona Johnston died, according to a post by her husband Friday on Facebook:
“Ramona passed away last night after fighting unbelievably hard against this horrible disease. As much as I knew this day would come, it hurts so bad that my girl is gone.
