CHICAGO -- The Padres' injury-riddled infield took another hit on Tuesday night, as shortstop Alexei Ramirez exited the game against the Cubs in the fifth inning with a cramped left hamstring.
The Padres already have four infielders -- Cory Spangenberg, Yangervis Solarte, Alexi Amarista and Jemile Weeks -- on the disabled list and can ill-afford to lose Ramirez.
Ramirez sustained the injury after driving in Jose Pirela with a double in the fifth. (Pirela's inclusion on the roster is a direct result of the the Padres' injury woes.
