After leaving the Mariners’ Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma, Wash., Carlos Quentin is moving on from his playing career, a source confirmed for U-T San Diego.

Rainiers manager Pat Listach said Thursday that he left the club to be with his family after a 3-for-17 start over five games in the Pacific Coast League.
