Quantrill hit hard in Padres’ blowout loss to D-backs

The Padres lost the series opener to Arizona Monday afternoon by a final score of 14-7.

Starting pitcher Cal Quantrill, coming off a rare off outing against the Dodgers, was once again roughed up to the tune of eight runs on eight hits over five innings. His ERA now sits at a modest 4.57 after being in the low 3.00s just a few weeks ago.

Offensively, Ty France took Mike Leake deep in the sixth for his third bomb in the last two games, while Manuel Margot, Nick Martini and Eric Hosmer all notched two-hit efforts.
