Alex Dickerson figured his timing would eventually “shake loose.”
He was right.
Maybe even quicker than he anticipated.
The 28-year-old Poway High product was added to the Padres’ roster on Friday afternoon, the reward for a blistering start to his return to everyday playing. In 24 games at Triple-A El Paso, Dickerson was hitting .360/.462/.593 with five homers, 19 RBIs and 13 walks against 17 strikeouts.
Dickerson had lost the 2017 and 2018 campaigns to back and elbow surgeries. He was removed from the 40-man roster this offseason and returned to the organization on a minor league deal.
