The construction of Andy Green’s first 25-man roster added a bit more clarity on Monday as two catchers were removed from camp: Erik Kratz via trade and Rocky Gale via reassignment. Of course, neither figures to be a major factor in a bench that figures to carry an extra catcher (likely Christian Bethancourt) and at least one extra outfielder (Jabari Blash is the leader). While outfielder Jose Pirela’s history in the infield could aid his cause, versatility is the key for the back-up infielders still in big league camp.
