With as many new arms that the Padres invited to camp this spring, pitching coach Darren Balsley is guaranteed to have at least one familiar face in his remade bullpen: Brandon Maurer. After one last disastrous turn through the rotation (flu-like symptoms reportedly had something to do with 10 earned runs allowed), the Padres will again use Maurer in a relief role in 2016.
