With one bench spot reserved for a backup catcher and another for a fourth outfielder, look for Padres manager Andy Green to recruit as much versatility as possible for the final three spots. What Brett Wallace lacks in that department, he more than makes up with the best left-handed bat off the bench, leaving the Padres looking for two players to cover as much ground as possible in a pinch.
