LOS ANGELES —
Eric Lauer got well Friday night.
Of course he did. He was facing the Dodgers, who have the National League’s top offense and the major leagues’ best record.
The 24-year-old left-hander continued his two-year ownership the team that has owned the NL West for seven seasons, allowing them two runs in six innings.
And because the Padres didn’t let Dustin May escape the sixth inning, as they had a couple times previously in the Dodgers’ second-ranked prospect’s major league debut, Lauer got the victory when Andres Munoz, Craig Stammen and Kirby Yates pitched a scoreless inning apiece to preserve a 5-2 victory at Dodger Stadium.
