PEORIA, Ariz. —
Sometimes, there isn’t anything to say other than the obvious.
“It is what it is,” Padres outfielder Wil Myers says so often it is practically punctuation to many of his sentences.
And, well, yeah. In this case, it is just that.
“It’s spring training,” Myers said Thursday. “It’s nothing to look into.”
There is at least a little something to be said for how Myers has remained devout with the approach he has so quickly abandoned at times in the past and is hitting the ball hard to all fields.
Feasting on a healthy diet of fastballs, because that’s what happens early in spring training, Myers enters Friday night’s game against the Rangers having hit three home runs among his eight hits in 19 at-bats.
