According to a just-tweeted bit of news from AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, San Diego is expected to call up rookie catcher Austin Allen. Sidearming reliever Eric Yardley will be optioned back to Triple-A after getting his first big league cup of coffee.
Austin Allen will be recalled, with the Padres in dire need of some bench help. Eric Yardley is going to be optioned after two big league outings.
