On Friday morning, it was reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan that the Padres have re-signed outfielder Jurickson Profar to a three-year deal worth up to $21 million.
In 2020, Profar was as versatile as it got for the Friars. By the end of the season, he had recorded multiple starts across five different defensive positions but saw most of his action out in left field, which is where he’s likely to play the most once again in 2021. His average of .278 in 2020 was a career high while he also added seven home runs and 25 RBIs in 56 total games played.
