On Tuesday evening, the Padres announced the signing of outfielder Bryan O’Grady to a major league contract.
The Pennsylvania native was originally drafted with the 245th pick in the eighth round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Rutgers University.
O’Grady spent the first five years of his professional career bouncing around the minors within the Reds organization. He started with the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League (a non-MLB affiliate) in 2014 and has slowly worked his way up to the Louisville Bats (AAA).
On August 5 of 2019, O’Grady was promoted to the major leagues before making his debut for the Reds against the Chicago Cubs just three days later.
