The Padres and first-round pick CJ Abrams on Saturday agreed to terms, General Manager A.J. Preller announced Saturday morning.
The sixth overall pick in the draft was paired with a recommended signing bonus of $5.74 million but the exact terms of the Padres’ deal with the 18-year-old Abrams was not immediately known.
Abrams hit .431 with three homers, 42 runs, 27 RBIs and a .723 slugging percentage his senior year for Georgia’s Blessed Trinity High.
Abrams will be introduced at 3 p.m. today at Petco Park.
