The Padres announced their 25-man roster Sunday morning, including eight relievers and a four-man bench. That configuration, however, is only temporary.
According to a source, the club will add utility infielder Adam Rosales to the roster later in the day and designate Rule 5 reliever Josh Martin for assignment.
Presumably, it will be easier to get Martin through waivers unclaimed after all 30 clubs set their respective opening-day rosters. A trade with Cleveland, Martin's previous organization, is a possibility.
Martin had been added Sunday morning, along with right-hander Colin Rea as the final starting pitcher and lefty Ryan Buchter as a bullpen piece.
