DENVER —
After Chris Paddack shut out the Cubs over six inning Wednesday night, Padres manager Andy Green was asked about the wisdom of letting the rookie’s season end on a high note.
“He can have more high notes,” Green said quickly.
That was the first indication the 23-year-old right-hander would make at least one more start. The confirmation came Friday.
Paddack will make his 26th start of the season, Tuesday or Wednesday, in Milwaukee.
Consider the Padres’ decision part of the continuing education of a pitcher they consider to be a big part of their future.
