LOS ANGELES — Padres manager Andy Green did what he could to put right-handed bats in Saturday's lineup. Left-hander Rich Hill was on the mound at Dodger Stadium, so Green played a pair of versatile infielders, Adam Rosales and Alexei Ramirez, in the corners of the outfield.
The configuration proved futile. Hill proved nearly untouchable.
The veteran no-hit the opposition for five innings, driving a 5-1 victory for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ramirez ended Hill's bid with a two-out single in the sixth. Hill got the next batter, Wil Myers, to pop out.
Conversely, the hits kept coming in the bottom of the fourth.
