Mike Clevinger recorded his first win as a member of the Padres thanks in part to a grand slam by Wil Myers in the opening inning which helped route the Rockies 14-5 on Tuesday night.
Clevinger (1-1) got off to a very rough start when he let up a three-run homer to 3B Nolan Arenado to give the Rockies an early lead. However, he responded exactly how you would want your ace to rebound. He did allow one more run, but he K’d eight and walked just one in what turned into a slugfest for the Friars.
