After more than four months of watching and waiting, Tyson Ross will pitch in a game again.
The Padres right-hander will join High Single-A Lake Elsinore to make a rehab start Thursday at Rancho Cucamonga. Not having competed in an official setting since April 4, he will be capped at about 45 pitches.
"I’m just excited to get back out there," Ross said. "It’s been a long time, so there’s going to be some rust I’ve got to knock off, but I’m looking to go out there, throw strikes, hopefully field my position, work on getting over and covering first.
