Padres release pitcher Eric Yardley; make several minor league moves

Right-hander Eric Yardley has been released, just a few days after the Padres designated him for assignment. Meanwhile, infielder Seth Mejias-Brean is among six minor leaguers to re-sign minor league deals with the Padres following his removal from the 40-man roster.

Infielder Ivan Castillo (Amarillo), right-handers Carlos Belen (Amarillo), Emmanuel Ramirez (Amarillo) and Tyler Higgins (El Paso) and catcher Webster Rivas (El Paso) are also returning on minor league deals.
