The Padres will open and close Cactus League play in 2020 with exhibitions against the Mariners, their roommate the Peoria Sports Complex. Highlights of next year’s spring training schedule includes a non-league exhibition against the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariz., on March 23 ahead of the season-opener against the Colorado Rockies on March 26.
The Padres’ pitchers and catchers will report Feb. 10 with the first full-squad workout scheduled for Feb. 15. The annual charity game against the Mariners on Feb. 22 will kick off Cactus League play.
The Padres will play 17 of their 30 Cactus League games in Peoria, including five on Saturdays and Sundays.
