The Arizona Fall League is an opportunity for some of baseball’s top prospects to test themselves ahead of an inevitable leap forward. Reggie Lawson’s stay is as much about making up for lost time as anything else.
So far, so good.
The 22-year-old right-hander struck out six over four shutout innings in a start on Friday for Peoria, Lawson’s second appearance of the fall after elbow issues limited him to six starts this year at Double-A Amarillo – none after May 9.
Lawson allowed just one hit and one walk in the outing after allowed a run in three innings in relief appearance the previous week after throwing four shutout innings in a start in the Don Welke On Deck Classic to cap a healthy fall instructional league.
