It’s been a rough couple of weeks here for the Padres, as they’ve lost Jackson Merrill (hamstring), Brandon Lockridge (hamstring), Jake Cronenworth (rib fracture), Jason Heyward (knee) and Luis Arraez (concussion IL).
That has changed the lineup and roster a lot, as you can tell from last night’s lineup that featured Gavin Sheets hitting second, Tirso Ornelas (second major league game), Oscar Gonzalez (minor league deal) and Tyler Wade (not on Opening Day roster).
