Padres pitcher Jacob Nix was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing Sunday after entering a home near the team’s training complex in Peoria, Ariz.
According to news reports, the 23-year-old Nix entered a home through a doggie door and was confronted by the homeowner. When Nix attempted to leave the premises, the homeowner used a taser on Nix.
Nix and Thomas Cosgrove, a 12th-round pick by the Padres in 2017 who played for Single-A Lake Elsinore last season, were arrested a short while later.
The Padres issued the following statement:
“We are aware of the alleged incident involving Jacob Nix last Sunday in Arizona.
