Early Monday morning, the Padres announced that they have agreed on an extension for the naming rights of Petco Park through the 2027 Major League Baseball season. Altogether, it’s a two-year extension on what has been a 17-year relationship with the Petco brand and the company’s storied history in the San Diego area.
A new focus in 2021 is expected to be a new, strategic partnership with specific Padres players/pet parents such as Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. that will involve finding ways to “improve the well-being of both pets and their parents.”
“We are grateful for our long-standing relationship with Petco and are delighted to extend the length of our partnership at a key inflection point of growth for both organizations,” said Padres CEO Erik Greupner.
